Pleasantville Reusable Bag Initiative

Disposable plastic bags are used only briefly but remain in the environment for hundreds of years, harming wildlife, clogging storm drains and rivers, floating in the oceans, filling landfills, and contaminating our natural resources. Paper bags have their own environmental impact. Switching to reusable bags will contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment in Pleasantville and beyond. Pleasantville retailers have been surveyed, and they are overwhelmingly in favor of stopping the practice of providing single-use plastic bags with most purchases. Now, we are asking residents to express their support of this initiative. Please join us!
