Ezekiel Pineda started this petition to plasticpollutioncoaltion

Over 100 million of marine animals are killed each year by plastic waste. Considering how plastic isn't soluble, it tends to float around in the ocean for years. As of 2019, the United States has produced approximately more than 38 million tonnes of plastic in the course of one year. Let alone the fact it being one country, China holds the lead of producing over twice as much plastics than the U.S.  Thus, in total  more than 400 million tonnes of plastic is being produced worldwide.  300 million of that is composed of plastic bags and water bottles, which are considered 'single-use items,' are only utilized for moments but remain in our planet for more than 1000 years. Less than half of these materials end up being recycle. However, 8 million metric tons of plastic is dumped into nearby oceans every year.  As a result,  aquatic life  suffers from pollution due to the unsupervised overflow of plastic. By signing this petition, your support will help organizations gain a voice and take action towards reducing the amount of plastic in the environment.
