Plastic pollution is a major problem in the world right now. It is affecting each and every single one of us, our families, our communities, our world. Plastic pollution affects our food, animals, climate change and even our human health. If plastic pollution keeps continuing, by 2050 there will be more plastic than marine life. We have to start making changes to reduce plastic pollution, reducing plastic pollution will ensure a better life for us. My two methods are recycling and using glass bottles instead of plastic. My solutions are both different and expanding on other solutions that have been created. I want to have more trash cans on the side of parks, streets and more. There is a program currently which is called Adopt-a Basket Program, this program helps reduce the amount of liter/plastic on the ground, you can play a role and help by creating your own "basket" (trash can) and supplying it so everyone will be able to clean up any garbage they see. Also, if you see a trash can overflowing you can call 311 and they would come and clear it up so no trash gets left back. Currently there are not enough trash cans anywhere which promote plastic pollution, also nobody has thought of using glass bottles instead of plastic bottles (glass bottles have no chemicals) this will ensure less plastic pollution. Not even 9% of plastic bottles are recycled. Recycling can reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions that are being created, which can help reduce climate change as well. A few places have now seen a lower amount of natural resources, some of those places are Liberia, Burundi, South Sudan and more. If we all begin to recycle we can help preserve some of those natural resources that we are beginning to lack on. Many places have implemented solutions for plastic pollution, some of those solutions are to support bans against plastic bags/taxes, cook more, buy in bulks and more. Glass uses only natural materials (sand, recycled glass etc.), plastic uses raw materials (natural gas, oil etc.). There are many companies in which promote glass bottles, some are Owens-Illinois, Hindustan National Glass & Industries Ltd,  Amcor Ltd and more. We need more people to talk about plastic pollution, the more we speak on this the more support we get. If everyone uses recycled glass then we can see a reduction of 2.2 million metric tons of CO2 from our environments.
