Many people don't have permission for cutting trees down and no one is objecting them. If it is harmful or going to fall over electric poles/wires then it's fine but only with the permission of the government of that state. There are a few cities in India where there are very strict rules for cutting trees, for every single branch they need to show the reason etc.... for example Mumbai has absolutely strict actions but not all states has it, they don't even care for it. Let us all come together and stop this injustice towards trees .
