Heritage Oaks and Dean Woods petition on West fieldstream blvd project

My name is Jose Marcano, and I live in the Heritage Oaks community. The purpose of this letter is to remind the residents of the Heritage Oaks and Dean Woods subdivisions about the upcoming meeting on September 16, at 9am at the Orange County Planning Board in downtown Orlando. This is in relation to the proposed West Fieldstream Village apartment complex which will be across from West Fieldstream Blvd Subdivision, this is about the distance of a block or two to the east of us. This project will have 1,500 family units, a stem school, and several other businesses.
As it is right now, it is very risky to make a left turn for either subdivision particularly during the morning and afternoon rush hours. This proposed project will create a nightmare for the residents and visitors of both subdivisions. We could be adding between 3 to 5 thousands more vehicles during the rush hours, this is less than a minute’s drive from us. The developer’s own study concludes an estimated increase of 10 thousand vehicles in our neighborhood in the near future, and this is a number that the he himself came up with. We will need a traffic light and a decelerating lane for both communities. The Orange County Planning Board is going to allow this developer to make it extremely dangerous and almost impossible to make a left turn from these communities during the rush hours. The developer is suggesting a roundabout at the entrance of this project claiming it will be safer.
