A student who keeps a grade of 89.5% or above should not be required to take finals at the end of the semester. If a student spends four and a half months working towards and maintaining an A, they should not have to depend on one exam to determine their end grade. It is unnecessary to test on every topic learned throughout the semester when the students have already been tested on them throughout the school year. An A in a class should be enough proof of understanding each unit in a course. Finals are a week of overwhelming stress. This is unnecessary. Multiple school districts already implement the “no finals for A students” and they face no issues with it. Exempting A-earning students from final exams is the only logical option.
