Dedicate a Placer Hills soccer field to Robert Hydinger Jr. "Coach Bob"

Robert Hydinger Jr. dedicated endless hours and energy towards promoting youth sports in our community. Increasing the opportunities for female athletes in the sport of soccer was especially important to him. Throughout his years of service, Coach Bob coached 18 seasons of youth soccer and basketball, served as President of the Placer Hills Youth Soccer Club for several years, formed the first all-girls soccer team at the under-8 level, formed the first girls competitive and select teams through 49er United, and helped petition for the formation of a girls soccer team at Colfax High School in the early 1990s.
What was always more important to Bob than the numerous winning seasons his teams achieved, were the values and lessons he taught to his players. He taught his girls that teamwork and dedication to one another would carry them much further than any physical abilities that they possessed, and every player that spent even just a season playing for Coach Bob, walked way with the self confidence and drive to succeed that would help them become strong, productive, and successful adults.
In 2002, Coach Bob passed away after a short battle with cancer. Many community members at this time suggested dedication of a local field in his honor, however, things never got organized enough to make this happen. As many of his old players have graduated college and returned to the gold country area as lawyers, nurses, doctors, teachers, coaches, amazing mothers, etc., talk has begun again of the need for Coach Bob's influence on our community to be permanently recognized. Please sign our petition in favor of the dedication of a soccer field at Placer Hills School to the memory of Coach Bob.
