This petition is an attempt to have Roger Bacon Academy work with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Department to provide a school resource officer for CCS of Southport. Currently a school resource officer does not fall into the budget for the school. With the addition of the middle school, recent activities at the school and incidents happening in schools across America, having a SRO officer on campus would not only help parents feel confident in their child's safety but also the safety of the teachers and staff.  We hope that the signatures obtained bring light on the safety concerns of the parents at CCS of Southport and it is taken into consideration at the next budget meeting.
