With the growing concern over the effectiveness of signage for pedestrian crosswalks in Gilbert, MN, we think it would be an appropriate use of city funds to provide the community with a pedestrian crossing light. We are asking those in power within the city to help with this issue. 

Aside from our growing population of children in the area, there is a large portion of older residents with declining eyesight. Some of our community members may not be able to cross the street without additional warning systems in place for drivers. 

Considering the main street in Gilbert also doubles as a highway extension, a large number of those passing through may not be familiar with the locations of our crosswalks. We believe it would be beneficial to both community members and visitors to install updated safety measures for pedestrians.
