Toy Story has been an amazing series of movies for the past 24 years which has brought tears, laughter and nostalgia to millions of young people, and the young at heart. From the original Toy Story, which introduced us to the Andy’s toys and taught us about loyalty, to Toy Story 2, which taught us that for a toy, “life is only worth living if you are being loved by a kid”. Toy Story 3 seemingly ended an amazing franchise with the toys moving on to a new owner, leaving cinemas full of weeping adults, teenagers and even children alike. To everyone’s disbelief, skepticism, yet excitement, Toy Story 4 hit the cinemas a few months ago. *SPOILER ALERT*  This movie not only explored in depth the power of love in a different form than toys are used to, but tugged deeply at the heartstrings of the audience who were left with an eternal hole in their heart now that Woody had left the gang. Toy Story 4 gave a sharp, abrupt end to Woody’s adventures with Buzz, Slinky, Jessie etc. which left the audience questioning the bond between the characters to begin with, as well as how Woody and Buzz, the dynamic duo, could be separated forever by one heartfelt, plastic embrace.

Toy Story 4 was a great movie, however it left most fans upset inside as Andy would never make an appearance again, and as Woody was abruptly plucked from the strong friendship and bond he had created with the rest of the toys over the years. Toy Story fans can never watch the franchise the same again knowing that the toys are split up, and we demand that Pixar creates Toy Story 5, which would see the reunion of Woody and the toys, as well as a grown up Andy. While our weary bodies grow old, our imagination should run as free as a horse, and not be subject to life’s expiry date.

Pixar, reunite our favourite sheriff and space ranger, and may we all grow old with the knowledge that our favourite toys will always be there for each other and with each other, to infinity and beyond.
