Help Save 92 Year Old Woman's Business Location of 20 Years

My name is Billie Kelly, I am the founder and owner of Coastal Vacation Rentals and Property Management and have been in business here in Pismo Beach for over twenty years. I love this city and proudly call it home.
When the property at 330 Main Street became available for sale we had a long-standing first right of refusal to purchase it, which had been our plan for many years up to that point. However, since the City was looking to build a parking structure at the location, potentially under threat of eminent domain, it did not seem prudent to exercise our option at that time. We instead joined in and put our support behind the City’s plan for a parking structure at the location. We did this based on assurances from Jim Lewis (Pismo Beach City Manager) that Coastal Vacation Rentals, described then as an asset to the City, would be permitted space to lease in the new structure. All we would need to do is find a temporary location during the construction phase.
We are diligently looking at all possible avenues for a new location to run our business, but few options are surfacing and we have recently been notified of no possibility to extend our lease, and despite the original plan falling through, that the City will not sell the property back to us. The only options we have found at this point will be detrimental to our business, potentially an existential threat, which affects not only our employees and their families but also the property owners we represent. We manage 86 rental units between Pismo and Shell Beach and 136 rentals in total. We employ 7 office/administrative staff and dozens of housekeepers and maintenance workers, several of which are residents of Pismo Beach as well.
Since that original plan, which we gave up our first right of refusal in order to help the City pursue, is no longer being considered an option we implore and humbly request that we be allowed to purchase the property, as was our right.
At age 92 I am fighting for the future of my business so we may continue serving visitors and supporting the City of Pismo Beach that we all care so deeply about, and I invite you to join me!
