Road FS475 from Balsam Grove to 276 is currently closed for through traffic but is open far enough for tourists to access Daniels Ridge Loop Trail and other scenic areas. This is unfair to the locals in the area since this is one of the two ways we can exit our community. We have been told that the Forest Service is waiting on FEMA money to fix the road. Yet, they have already used plenty of money on putting up new gates on the road, which instead could have went toward repairs for the road. As a local, I can speak for us when saying we want the gate opened. Even if that means it’s just for locals. Just give us access to the road again.
