James Burk started this petition to Piscataway township

As many towns around NJ have begun allowing the keeping of chickens I feel it would be a benefit for piscataway residents to be allowed to keep up to a dozen hens (female chickens) as they do not crow, are natural bug eaters and provide healthy eggs.

Currently Piscataway township does not allow chickens based off an ancient law that at their own admission was created when Piscataway was a farming community. Chickens are included as "livestock" and are subject to the same zoning rules as cows.

I would like to get enough signatures on this petition to show the town council and mayor that piscataway residents would like the opportunity to be self sufficient with egg production, natural bug eaters and great pets.
