This petition is a way to gather and see support of Pioneer Employees that are for equal treatment of all employees, regardless of vaccination status.

The RESPECT core values of pioneer discourage “we vs. they” thinking, but new policies are directly fostering a “we vs. they” environment. 

Discrimination against one population of the employee base, is in direct conflict with RESPECT core values and the beliefs that Pioneer was built on. 

This new policy creates a culture of distrust and fosters an environment where an employee has to choose between punitive action against their fellow employee and lying to protect their friends. Neither of which will benefit Pioneer.


This petition is only meant to exist to see support from employees (vaccinated or unvaccinated) alone and is in no way meant to cause further segregation within the company.

Pioneer Natural Resources recently released a memo stating non vaccinated employees will be subject to an additional health insurance surcharge and quarantine restrictions. Those employees that are vaccinated, but need to quarantine will receive Covid-19 quarantine pay, while those unvaccinated will need to take PTO for any required quarantine. Additionally, Pioneer has offered a cash incentive for those employees that do get vaccinated. At this time, approximately 75% of the company is vaccinated.
By instituting a health insurance surcharge and additional restrictions, employees who would not normally choose to get the vaccine due to their own personal or health choices, are receiving the vaccine because they feel like they have no other option.

There are still many employees who are very much against a forced vaccine mandate. They believe the vaccine can be a good choice for many people, but the vaccine is not a good choice for them. By instituting this new policy, many employees feel bullied and segregated from their peers.
There are also many vaccinated employees who don’t believe this treatment to unvaccinated employees is fair and support the unvaccinated employees right to choose.
