Why this petition matters

If you are unsure, Pinterest boards are a feature that allows users to collect images and videos into one place, similar to a folder. These boards can be private or public, worked on by multiple people or one person, and overall create an environment for creativity to flourish in.

A few updates ago, Pinterest removed the ability to search for boards on the mobile app. This means the creative communities that used boards to express themselves or promote their businesses now lack a significant amount of reach! It makes it incredibly hard to find content to share as well since these communities have been dismantled!

Why you should care:

  • It helped people promote their businesses and gain more reach, something many people rely on for their job
  • Creative communities could grow and artists could bounce ideas off of each other, beautiful pieces were created from this
  • Everyone's reach has gone down significantly since the feature was deleted, I personally used to have around 1 million monthly viewers and now I only get 9k
  • It is increasingly hard to find images that are worth putting into boards now, this makes the entire concept of boards essentially useless

Personally, I want the ability to search for boards back because of how it helped my creativity and anxiety. When the feature was still intact, I could look up other user's boards and draw inspiration from them to put towards my own work. This helped distract me from my anxiety on many occasions, something I miss dearly.

Pinterest has ignored users like myself for months as we try to get this feature back, it would mean so much to us if you helped our cause!
