The voters of Contra Costa County passed Measure X, a sales tax measure in 2020. On November 16th, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors will vote on how to allocate the funds from that measure.

There's a county-wide approach to fire services funding that would reopen Station 74 in Pinole, but only if there's enough public support for it. The city of Pinole submitted a letter to the County in July- this petition says that we agree with and support the letter and the county-wide approach.

"this letter supporting the Contra Costa County Executive Fire Chiefs’ request for $28.85M (and $27.35M annually thereafter) in County Measure X funding to:
• Reopen five (5) closed fire stations and add 45 firefighters countywide
• Mitigate extreme wildfire danger
• Address aging facilities and infrastructure".
