- In the 1990s, there were reports from California's Assembly Office of Research that found that 64% of stores in many major cities charged more to wash and dry clean a woman's blouse than a man's button-up. This issue is important because it is a larger problem of gender bias and inequality that affects women's wages, as well as women's sports teams being paid less than men's teams. In 2020, women earned 84% of what men earned, according to the Pew Research Center. This contributes very highly to gender inequality.
- Womens´products are priced higher than mens products. This also applies to little girls' products like toys. For example, hygiene products for women are on average 13 percent more expensive than hygiene products for men. The Pink Tax puts an unfair burden on women as it further proves that the lives of women and society are cruelly controlled by those in power. Women all around are affected by this including the women in your life. Men do not face the cost of being a woman in a corrupt society.
