During a heavy rain storm at the end of January 2022 the bridge over Pine River in Middle Cove was damaged. Several families have used the road to access their farm land for generations. Pine River Road was the original access for residents of Middle Cove until Middle Cove Road was completed in the 1950s. It was put in by the Government of the Dominion of Newfoundland in the late 1800s. The Town of Logy Bay Middle Cove Outer Cove have decided to block access to the bridge by vehicles including farm equipment without proper consultation with effected residents. We would like the bridge to remain open for farm equipment in order for our families to continue to use their land as they have for generations including residents in their 90s who are still actively farming.
