In chapter 2 of the On Course textbook for the AAA109 class is an example of accepting personal responsibility. In this example a student is faced with many obstacles and choices that may keep her from turning in her assignment on time. Most of these examples are fine and a great way to showcase this issue. What is not okay is the example of her husband's actions. He is shown to be afraid of her getting her college degree when he only has a HS diploma. He constantly puts her down telling her he thinks she's having an affair and that she should drop out of college because she is stupid. He even goes so far as to hide her keys and won't drive her so she can't get to class. This is abuse, plain and simple. This example should not be allowed to stay in a textbook that we are marketing towards young, impressionable people who are coming straight out of HS. Please do your part to remove this example from this textbook by signing my petition.
