Female actors are facing increasing pressure to strip off for “pornographic” television roles, British star Dominic West said.

He praised the #MeToo campaign against harassment but said treatment of women on the small screen has “taken a big step back” over the last 20 years in an interview with the Radio Times magazine.

We regularly find ourselves watching beautifully crafted and engaging drama that suddenly features a gratuitous and offensive sex scene.  If you are serious about ending the objectification of women in television, we would ask you to make it clear at the commissioning stage that this content is not acceptable.
