Hi there, my name is Allie most of you from school may know me some may not. I have started this petition to convince the faculty and staff of Piedra Vista High School to do away with the new attendance policy this attendance policy started at the beginning of the 2022-23 school year, whereas if you have one Unexcused absence or 6 Parent Verfied absences you receive a No Grade for the semester unless made up before, after or on Saturday in this case I feel as though the school did not take into consideration family’s with different back grounds, say someone had Covid, they had a surgery, they had family problems or just simply couldn’t make it to school, some parents cannot get  their children to school early, or cannot pick them up after school later that 3:12 which would result in the student not being able to make up their time  which I see is to be unfair because if you accidentally get marked absent or if you are sick at times during the semester you get a No Grade for the entire semester not only that, when students need to make up time you are in need of more teachers willing to stay later or work overtime, teachers are already over worked because they have to go 8 hours a day dealing with many difficult students and then they have to go home and grade or get lesson plans together. All in all this is a hassle for parents, teachers and students If you agree with me please sign this petition that way we can possibly get the faculty and  staff to change their mind.
