Occupational therapists are health care professionals who work hard everyday but are underrated. What is an occupational therapist you may ask? Occupational therapist are people who help people from all ages that are either disabled injured or also ill. They help these patients to improve and maintain there skills that are needed for every day life. After receiving the news from my sister who is a soon to be occupational therapist, I found out occupational therapist only receive a pin after completing their journey in medical school. A white lab coat represents a traditional symbol of professional responsibilities in the healthcare system. Many other doctors including surgeons and physicians contain these white lab coats. But why don’t occupational therapist receive white coats?They are doctors and we must treat them as one. These doctors have studied and work hard for their goal. Our goal today is to help occupational therapist receive a white lab coat.
