Why this petition matters

Started by Trisha Maraña

Quality education is not just about the huge sum of money you put into it – it's about the effectiveness.

The Philippine educational system has developed over years. The various improvements in the way of teaching and school facilities and programs became more strongly evident. The number of students being enrolled in both private and public schools and universities are enormously increasing annually, and so as the concerns in the financial capability of parents and/or guardians too. From tuition fees, books, school uniforms, and other miscellaneous fees, a huge amount of money were being needed and used just to make their children enter and attend school classes, and experience and gain a quality education. Not all Filipinos are financially stable!

So in order for both parents and children to decrease their expenses, the Philippine government and the Department of Education (DepEd) must create and provide the students a free access to academic e-books not just to lessen the expenses but as well as to help the students in having a deeper and wider scope of understanding and knowledge about those topics or lessons which are more complex and complicated, and guide them more in doing their academic tasks.

Not only that, in order to have an additional knowledge in various fields, the free academic e-books must not be limited to Philippine academics only but must also include even some of the international scholarly subjects. It would be a lot better with that.

In this way, aside from saving money, it will also help both parents and students in various aspects, and would also improve more the school functionality and the effectiveness of the Philippine educational system.

So, now, would you rather stay with books only? Or stand with me in aiming for a free access to Academic E-books?
