I just want to start by introducing you to my 2 year old daughter Mia. Mia has a rare genetic condition called Hermansky Pudlak Syndrome. It entails low vision (legal blindness), sun sensitivities (Albinism), a platelet dysfunction (bleeding and bruising disorder) and other medical issues. Mia has been a very busy little girl with 4 different therapies on top of all her doctor appointments. Mia not only loves doing her therapies at the local park but she loves going there to meet new friends. The chalfont playground has been so kind to make some accommodations already including adding yellow lines to the playground steps and equipment. This helps Mia safely play with the other kids at the park as she has no depth perception. I have also been trying to get some more shade at the park and a few other accommodations but that takes a little more community interest. So, I am now reaching out to our community for help. By signing this petition you will be making it possible for Mia to enjoy everything her neighborhood park has to offer. This will not only benefit her but all our children. I am sure you all know that sun exposure should be limited and we also know how hard it is to get our little ones out of the park lol. Mia would especially like to thank you for taking the time to read this and for signing this petition so we can try and move forward on adding shade for all children to enjoy. Thanks again!
