Why this petition matters
Thank you all, for taking the time out to read my story. My name is Darnell Grimsley, I'm forty-six (46) years old, father to three wonderful children, one girl and two boys, ages 28, 27 and 25, yes all of them are grown now and I have four beautiful grandchildren, ages 12, 8, 6 and 2. Unfortunately I was wrongfully convicted and stripped of my freedom for a crime I did not commit, to be sentenced to life without the possibility and taken away from your family knowing your innocence feels like a stab to your heart. Could you picture a trial that had No physically Evidence and No forensic Evidence, No hair Follicles, No murder weapon, No fingerprints and No actually eyewitnesses linking me to the crime at all. Hold that thought, now think about a trial that had, an African American, who knew nothing about the LAW, there without a paid attorney, now what do you believe the outcome would be, if you said hung out to dry, then you would be absolutely correct. Sixteen years later and I still can't believe that, I'm still waking up and going to sleep in a state correctional institution, for a crime I absolutely, most definitely did not commit, please help me get justice and reunite me with my family.
