Vermont Department of Corrections contractually hires medical "professionals" from an outside medical business. These medical businesses that have been hired have never properly taken care of these inmates as well as sometimes the inmates are not even treated as if they were human. Many inmates never get the proper medical Care they need and come out of the facility with permanent medical conditions due to the fact that they will not treated properly when in the facility. Some inmates have even been known to lose their life and it just gets swept under the rug. It is time DOC is help accountable. It is required that inmates get the same treatment in medical care in the facility that they would also get on the outside. Something needs to change. I'm asking that you sign this petition and that we can get it to go to governor Phil Scott and Corrections commissioner James Baker so this can be fixed and inmates can start getting proper medical Care. Our loved ones deserve better than this.
