Vermont to adopt the "Just Cause" policy for all landlords.
Vermont's homelessness rate especially among families is growing exponentially. The "Just Cause" policy forces landlords to have a reasonable cause to evict a tenant. In many cases, Landlords hold the right to evict a person or a family due to racial discrimination, their personal beliefs or the opportunity to get more money from another renter. This creates a plethora of problems including instability among young children and adults. It forces fractured families into a worse situation, creating larger futuristic problems for our loved state. It's important to keep Vermont a live-able state for all of its loved citizens, let's start doing so by advocating for our minorities and our young counterparts facing harder struggles.
Please sign this petition to hold landlords accountable and to help stop the spread of houselessness. By doing so, you are keeping Vermont progressive and advocating for the pure well being, safety and secure future for all Vermonters. Protecting fellow citizens and community no matter political opinion, race, gender or ethnicity is really what being a Vermonter is all about.
