We need to unmask our children at MRUUSD District and all across the world! There are many reasons that have come about that led me to making this petition. First, and most important to me, is our children’s health and safety. My oldest daughter has complained of headaches while at school, just about everyday. I took her to the doctor to ensure she is ok. She is! Which leads me to believe that these headaches are being caused from wearing a mask all day long- due to restricted oxygen flow. My middle daughter has cried to me many times about how hot she is while in gym class. She’s not able to preform to the best of her abilities because she’s extremely hot and can’t breathe right while trying to preform her activities in gym class. And the teachers aren’t allowed to give her a “mask break..” this is becoming a real problem and it needs to stop! If my children are having these issues, I’m sure many children are! WE NEED TO STAND UP FOR OUR CHILDREN!

Secondly, masks are unhygienic! The kids are constantly fixing their masks.. which has them touching their faces and spreading MORE GERMS!

Thirdly, we are teaching our children to be fearful of each other! Research has shown that children may actually benefit from exposure to germs. Offering greater protection from illnesses, allergies, and autoimmune diseases later in life. This will cause long term negative impacts! 

Last, but definitely not least, these children need to see their friends and teachers beautiful smiles again! Childhood is THE MOST IMPORTANT time to build friendships by socializing with peers! While wearing a mask they can’t see facial expressions, which plays a crucial part in socialization! 

I will end this by saying parents should be the ones making decisions for their children and IT’S TIME FOR OUR KIDS TO BE KIDS AGAIN! End mask mandates in our schools immediately!
