On February 28th 2022, Healthcare workers across the beautiful garden state (New Jersey) are being threatened to get the Covid-19 booster or be terminated from their jobs. The amount of sacrifices the healthcare workers of NJ have made over the last 2 years have been countless.

During the first wave of the pandemic we were scared, isolated, but yet hopeful and provided hope to our patients and our community. We did not have PPE - many of us wore THE SAME N95 for 2-3 weeks at a time. We had to store them in brown paper bags or Tupperware containers to wear time and time again knowing we weren't protecting ourselves at all- we showed up , we suffered , we gave every thing we have. We still do - now facing severe staffing shortages Governor Phil Murphy does not seem to care about the patients or the healthcare workers. Our co-workers who served along side us terminated last years heroes have become this years martyrs. 

We have been told that those whom have experienced adverse effects or even allergic reactions to a particular vaccine can get boosted using a "mix and match method". For example if I received a 2 dose Moderna vaccine but have had an allergic reaction, I can receive a J&J vaccine as a booster. Is this supported by science? Is there sufficient data to prove that this "mix and match" method is safe and effective? 

We are told we can now come to work COVID POSITIVE ! (Per CDC guidelines of course) So I can serve a vulnerable population while being Covid positive but I can not work if I do not have a Covid-19 Booster? Where is the rationale? WHERE IS THE SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE THAT THIS IS SAFE AND EFFECTIVE? 

It is time for healthcare workers to take a stance. Time to put our own health and safety first for once. Demand the right to make decisions over our own health just as we support the patients and community we serve every day to make informed decisions. It is time for healthcare workers to demand the respect they deserve and SAY NO to governor Murphy and his Booster mandate.  

The hospital CEO's across the state need to stand up and stop being compliant with the orders coming from Murphy. Without hospital staff the vulnerable population will be left without caregivers. Enough is enough. The Governor is not going with the science he is going with what he wants to do without regard for anyone else and especially his "vulnerable" population. 

If we can not have autonomy to our own bodies - I propose a STATE WIDE healthcare worker walkout. AND TRUST US THIS IS NOT AT ALL WHAT WE WANT for our patients.
