To New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy:

COVID-19 (also known as SARS-COV-2) has become a global pandemic. The number of confirmed cases in New Jersey continue to rise dramatically and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. The daily restrictions have rendered businesses inoperable with little to no means of earning revenue leaving a large percentage of residents without a monthly income. Fulfilling monthly lease, rent, loan and utility obligations will become increasingly difficult, if not impossible, for quite a few people in our state. This pandemic is having far reaching economic effects on industries, businesses and most of all individuals.

In order to protect the health, economic and housing security of our communities, we, the undersigned, call on Governor Murphy to act now so workers can ride this pandemic out safely. Specifically, we call for a suspension of all lease, rent, loan, and utility payments for at least 3 months or as long as this national health crisis continues. A continued pay suspension in order for every individual to take care of themselves, their loved ones, and the community. Putting a stop on payments would, in turn, eliminate the need for continued bail outs in the future.

The legacy of every public official currently serving will be determined in the next few months. It's time to act now, and choose to protect your constituents. Please choose to boost your state economy in every way possible. Choose the people. Do the right thing!
