Long-neglected flooding of Morse's Creek in the South Wood Ave and Tremley neighborhoods of Linden, NJ continues to worsen as a result of climate change. The residents of these neighborhoods have supported local and national politicians, but their needs have been ignored for far too long. We call on Governor Phil Murphy, Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver, and Linden's first African American Mayor Derek Armstead to secure funds from President Joe Biden's Infrastructure Bill and other financial sources to create lasting protection from the flooding that has long plagued the South Wood Ave and Tremley neighborhoods in Linden, which are largely populated by Black and Brown residents who have voted for the above politicians.

A flood study was conducted and recommendations were created, but NO action has been taken to fix the problem. The time has come for these politicians to support the community members who voted them into office. Please sign and share this petition to ensure Environmental Justice for Black and Brown people whose homes continue to be ravaged by this long-ignored flooding.
