With the news that New Jersey schools will be closed in-person for the remainder of the year, many are struggling to continue with online school. We have lost motivation to continue on with our learning, especially since it is on our own. For the younger kids, their parents are tasked with being teachers at home. Many parents still must go to work, making it even harder on them to work and teach their children. 

I am a high school senior who has lost the remainder of high school due to this virus. Continuing on with work after everything this year has been extremely difficult and upsetting. How am I supposed to focus on calculus and English at a time like this? How are we expected to continue learning on our own? 

The point of this petition is to make life easier on students for the last few weeks we have left of school. Of course it is important to keep ourselves busy and educated, but at an already stressful time, adding school work to the mix has had a negative impact on a lot of students. We want to have online school canceled for the remainder of the year and for students to get a pass for the fourth marking period.
