Keep Footrot Flats Tribute on Three Kings

This petition had 12 supporters

Murray Ball is known throughout New Zealand as the iconic cartoonist who brought us "Footrot Flats". Following his death on 12 March 2017, an anonymous artist painted the image of Wal Footrot's dog on the face of an otherwise ugly water reservoir. The tribute is popular amongst locals and it would be a waste of ratepayers' money to paint over it. Apart from looking good, it deters tagging. In a poll from, 100% of 2K respondents voted to retain the tribute. Support this petition to encourage the council to leave the painting as it is.
