Willie Nash UPDATE: Case Makes National News, yet Gov. Tate Reeves Cannot Be Reached

Dear Willie Nash Supporter,

Within the past week, Willie Nash, Mississippi man sentenced to 12 years for bringing his phone into county jail, has made national and international news -- our petition was mentioned in a Miami Herald piece by Leonard Pitts Jr. However, Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves has still failed to respond. According NBC News, "Reeves' office did not immediately return NBC News' request for comment." Additionally, when I called his office, I was immediately cut off by his secretary who said "let me guess, you're outraged?" and then brusquely hung up on me.

Today, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Gov. Reeves tweeted "may we work today and every day to live his dream for this nation," yet he is quiet on the injustice Willie Nash is living. May we continue to fight Nash's injustice, for Dr. King stated, "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice anywhere".

If you wish to take more action, Tate Reeve's phone number is (601) 394-5600, (however, he may change it, but it should be on Google) and his email and address is available here: https://tatereeves.com/contact-us/

Additionally, Jason Hernandez, who wrote his way into receiving clemency from Barack Obama, is looking to help Willie Nash, but he needs Nash's family information. If you happen to know them, please let them know -- his info can be Googled.

Lastly, If you wish to send Willie Nash a letter, his location is South Mississippi Correctional Institution, his unit is SMCI 2, and his MDOC ID Number is M5612. It should be in the following format:

Inmate Name, ID Number
South Mississippi Correctional Institution
Post Office Box 1419
Leakesville, MS 39451

You can also send him money by phone or electronically -- many Mississippi prisons are currently inhumane, and a lot of their food has mold on it and their water is yellow, so hopefully money can help Nash buy something from the canteen or ease economic burden on his wife and three kids. Thank you!
