For 10 years, students all over the USA rallied behind the DREAM Act (Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors) in order to obtain a pathway to citizenship and access to higher education. On June 15, 2012, President Obama announced Deferred Action for certain eligible youth to protect them from deportation and grant them work permits for up to two years. Phil Bryant has joined a federal lawsuit against this Deferred Action, which goes against the state of Mississippi's best interests, and which shows immigrant youth and families that they are unwelcome in this state they call their home.
Protect students' dreams. Protect the gains Mississippi has made after segregation. Protect Deferred Action!
