Why this petition matters

Electric cars have proven to be far more efficient and environmentally friendly than their conventional gas-powered counterparts with internal combustion engines.

Full-electric cars have no tailpipes, and therefore are zero-emission vehicles. Although the initial purchase cost of an electric vehicle tends to be higher than most conventional vehicles, the cost to maintain an electric vehicle tends to be far less than that of gas-powered vehicles. Electric vehicles have no need for oil or oil changes, and a full charged battery lasts much longer than a full tank of gas, as most electric cars report fuel efficiency upwards of 100MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent).

If electric cars are not only more efficient than conventional cars, but are also completely environmentally friendly, what's keeping us from embracing change and securing a healthier planet for ourselves and for future generations? Electric cars are the future, and if we can express a common interest and demand for electric vehicles, automakers will need to meet the supply. Needless to say, more production of electric cars and battery components would surely lower the initial purchase cost.

If we do not act and embrace electric cars, greenhouse gas emission rates will continue to skyrocket, and we will continue to exacerbate the harmful effects we're enacting on our planet.

Sign today and express interest in a change that would benefit ourselves and benefit our environment, and rest assured know that you're helping the United States do their part in preserving a cleaner, safer planet for ourselves and for future generations. Our children deserve to grow up in a clean environment. To look up at night and see a sky full of stars rather than thick clouds of smog.

Your support quite literally means the world. Thank you.
