PGWP eligibility changed abruptly - 1000s of students affected in Quebec

PGWP eligibility changed abruptly - 1000s of students affected in Quebec
Pourquoi cette pétition est importante
This is regarding the new rules initiated by the Government of Canada. Immigration. There is a high volume currently pursuing their education in Quebec and have migrated from our home countries after following and going through the immigration guideline by the Government which also includes, providing a Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) for students who have completed 900 hours or more of study from a DLI approved institute providing PGWP. It is miserable and dishearting to see the sudden change of rules and laws stating that If you are studying in a program that will no longer be eligible for the PGWP after September 1, 2023, the time you spent studying in the program prior to that date may be counted towards a PGWP in the future. The Canada Immigration body cannot be insensitive towards international students to this extent and needs to realize that students are humans too and follow a plan. We, students, have migrated from our home country as we had faith in the Canadian Government and left our homes, families, and country to build our careers and future. The sudden change of rules has not only affected our careers and future to an extreme extent wherein we students have not only been disrespected but also our mental health is affected. We did not expect Canadian Immigration to treat international students in this degrading manner. We as students understand that PGWP will not be provided to students who will enrol After 31st August 2023, but to students who are pursuing their education in Quebec, it is not acceptable. We as students have contributed to the province in the best way possible by studying bilingual language, Working on our time limits of 20 hours, paying taxes and have proved our province's loyalty. We as students request you to not destroy our futures and our faith in the Canadian Government. This is our request to the Canadian Government to look into this at the earliest possible so that we can complete our education in relief as well as continue to pursue our aim of making our future better.
From all students, it's our request to the CANADIAN IMMIGRATION to help us out in this situation.
