Allow homeowners to lay Astro turf in PGA National

Allow homeowners to lay Astro turf in PGA National
Why this petition matters
Our current governing POA rules do not allow for Astro turf, only St Augustine grass. We are looking for a change to these bylaws. Astro turf provides many benefits to the homeowner, including but not limited to:
- Attractive all year long
- No watering need.
- No pesticides or fertilizers needed to keep synthetic turf looking good.
No cutting, mowing, or trimming the grass. - No issues "growing" in the shade, patchy spots from wear and tear, or pest damage.
- Elements are good for the environment, like the fact that it uses no water and that some artificial turf can be made from recycled materials.
Many of the most prestigious neighborhoods in the county and city of Palm Beach Gardens allow their homeowners to lay Astro turf, because it helps enhance property value and appearance. We are appealing the PGA POA to please allow the installation of Astro turf with the proper landscape buffer for residents of this community. The POA laws are outdated, and we live in a golfing community. The modern Astro turf that exists in 2021 is better quality, more environmentally friendly and withstands wear and tear. We live in a golfing community, we should be allowed to have some Astro turf in our yards with the proper landscape buffer to hide it from view from the road.
