It's wrong that large pet supply chains even sell products that are known to be unfit for your pets. What I want to target here are aquariums under five gallons. It is well known to anyone who keeps fish that these tanks shouldn't even exist. Tanks these sizes are inadequate for keeping any aquatic life with the exception of tiny brine shrimp(sea monkeys) and possibly other shrimp. Tanks under 5gallons are usually targeted at people who don't knowhow to properly care for a fish and just want something cheap for their betta or gold fish. Betta fish need a minimum of five gallons in order to thrive. And goldfish actually can live for over ten years and need a bare minimum of twenty or so gallons. Pet stores know this but refuse to take these tiny tanks off the market allowing fish to die. Stop the needless killing of fish, Stop their suffering! Take all tanks under five gallons off the market!
