Dec 13, 2011 — With the holiday season upon us, the ASPCA has put up forty billboards around Los Angeles and launched an online educational campaign about boycotting pet stores. The goal is for those seeking a dog to adopt from their local shelter if they are able to provide loving homes for a dog.

The Associated Press just released a story about how the ASPCA, The Humane Society of the United States, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, and others are advocating for a boycott of online and local pet stores which sell puppies. This includes Petland which continues to disregard animals' well-being by selling puppies from puppy mills.
