Take the petition for Justice for Rehtaeh for example. (http://www.change.org/petitions/justice-for-rehtaeh-demand-an-independent-inquiry-into-the-police-investigation)
Sexual violence is wrong. (full stop, no excuses, no question)
But the petition for Rehtaeh leaves everyone in the dark. What was said by Rehtaeh? What of the photos? What social media posts? What police involvement has there been? Some at least to say "she says, he says."
Stopping sexual violence and bullying isn't going to be stopped by rushing from one celeb cause to another.
Knowing the facts and demanding changes based on the facts (interviews by police women, non-consenual photos online, better definitions of "bullying" online, etc.) may help bring justice for Rehtaeh and others.
