Teenage pregnancy is when a female under 20 have sex with their partner and gets pregnant too early. It usually refers to teens between the ages of 15-19 years old.

These are the possible causes, why is teenage pregnancy is so prevalent now in many countries including the Philippines.

They are lack of information about Sex Education and Birth Control.

- Some girls do not have enough knowledge about sex education and birth control that can lead them to gets pregnant or fully responsibility of having a children. 

• They are Lack of Parental supervision.

- Some teenagers are not well guided by their parents. Maybe because they are already broken family, and sometimes their parents are busy with their own jobs.

• Peers Pressure

- Peers could influence the teenage's perception about sexuality that can tend them to have sex with their partner.

• Force marriage by their own parents.

 - Some parents force their children to get married and have a family too early. Maybe because of their traditions and their own preferences and needs for their family.

To prevent Teenage Pregnancy, should our parents, guardians, and caregivers will

Talk with their teens about sex, including:

encouraging them not to have sex.

encouraging them to use effective birth control to prevent pregnancy, along with condoms to protect against sexually transmitted diseases.

Teens can

• Choose not to have sex.

Talk openly to parents or other trusted adults and ask how they can get birth control if they choose to be sexually active.

Talk with a health care provider to learn about the best types of birth control for them, and use it and condoms correctly every time.

Educating the youth about sexual and reproductive health, even in non-formal education settings, and normalizing respectful dialogue on the topic. providing rights-based measures to help pregnant girls and young mothers continue and finish their education. creating vocational training opportunities.

This issue raises the question of what can be done to prevent and lower the rates of teenage pregnancy. In order to prevent teenage pregnancy, teenagers need to have a comprehensive understanding of abstinence, contraceptive techniques, and consequences.
