Background: Perth town councillors are set to vote on a proposed zoning by-law amendment that would permit construction of a 3 storey, 24-unit apartment building on vacant land on the east side of Rogers Road between John and Peter Streets. In scale and appearance, the proposed structure is not in keeping with the immediate neighbourhood in Carolina Village, which the Town of Perth Official Plan identifies as a ‘Potential Heritage Character Area’.
Thus: We the undersigned urge members of Perth Town Council to vote NO to the Proposed Bylaw Amendment that would allow rezoning of the property known as 8 Rogers Road,* in Carolina Village, from Residential Second Density (R2) to Residential Fourth Density (R4).
