My historical education isn't dependent on the outdated name of a middle school. We were not hard enough on the south during reconstruction. Our middle school teams shouldn't be named after one that failed so miserably at the cost of human life. Not to forget traitors of our amazing country. The "heritage" argument doesn't apply for the benefit of a terrorist organization.

Do you see statues, buildings, or ANYTHING named after Nazis because it's part of history?? HELL NO! Like EVERYTHING from history, especially, this Nazi and confederate belongs in BOOKS AND MUSEUMS ONLY!! It's deeply offensive to Jewish people to see that emblem from the Nazi regime, to other ethnicities and history will never forget it. It's a preposterous argument that it'll be forgotten!!
A confederate name/monument/etc. is only an ugly reminder and like a swastika to African-American people, so obviously it needs to be removed NOW, like yesterday!!

We should change the name of Robert E Lee as the name doesn’t reflect the values of the people of San Angelo.

as a former student of LMS, i definitely think the school shouldn’t be named after a disgusting racist man!

A person who was in favor of keeping other people as property, who also betrayed his country, doesn't deserve a school named after him. He's NOT a hero at all

It’s time for these shameful monuments to people that fought only to keep other people in chains.

It has never been appropriate to have things named after those who fought to dissolve the Union. It was at best a healing attempt and at its worst people honoring what they wished back again. These are not valid reasons now.
