We wish to bring to the attention of our MP and area councilor a very serious issue affecting the many households in New Avondale. We have had very erratic water supply to the effect that many households without boreholes have not had this precious commodity for serveral weeks.A discussion with Lusaka Water and Swerage Company has revealed that a power substation supplying power to a pump for LWSC has been vandalised. This has been reoccurring with the Zesco company failing to secure this instillation with some form of security . Hence we seem to continually experience this same issue. We don’t understand why they keep fixing this equipment but fail to secure it making the continued replacement process expensive and unending. 

Our view is that for some one to tamper with a substation, substantial knowledge of how to handle high powered voltage is needed hence no ordinary citizen can easily vandalise these substations. Only knowledgeable experienced crooks can attempt and succeed to vandalise these installations.
