Aadarsha Gopala Reddy started this petition to Indian Government and

International Curriculum is Blooming in India. IGCSE, CIE, and IB are being spoken about by more and more people but the schools providing these curriculums are charging exorbitant fees. Even some State-PUC/CBSE/ICSE-ISC schools and colleges charge >1,00,00 rupees and above. Experienced old schools increase fees significantly year by year and new schools are inexperienced and expensive. Of all the schools I saw, the fees start from at least 3 lakhs and go beyond the 30 lakh mark. Education was supposed to be the only free thing on Earth but Businessmen came in and made education a business. Ok, the teachers need money for a living - understood. But, it doesn't mean that a school just takes advantage of it and puts high price tags. And how does a school become international if it doesn't have a branch outside the country? Just because it has an international curriculum, it becomes International? Does its richness and price tag show the quality of education and life inside the school premises? Does good marketing skills mean good products and services? Like literally, these 'international' schools are exploiting the parents and attracting students.

The current scenario is literally like a gold mine: the schools are company owners, parents are money, students are consumers, teachers are land and education is the gold; the infrastructure and all other things are just the precious rocks and the cheaper ones. Students just keep learning, parents just keep paying, schools just keep gaining profits and teachers keep teaching. The education industry is the most corrupt (Some not all - There are good ones which no matter what happens, will keep providing free education) and will be the most profitable business in the world unless and until a powerful enough body controls and regulates these prices.

We Indians are known to have the second highest English speakers in the world after the USA but we also have to know that 80% of USA knows English and only a mere 10% of Indians know English. If you want, search it up on the Internet. Tell me if I'm wrong. In India, government schools had so much scope to be better than any other curriculum on planet earth. Kerala has the highest literacy rate but if you see properly, >75% of Kerala is forest and villages. So, where did the education come from - good quality education from private schools? No! From local government schools. All over India, government schools firstly failed because of the unavailability of teachers - which of course came from teachers fleeing to high pay private schools. Secondly, previous governments were focused on other things like trade, infrastructure and everything else rather than educating the then generation of students to become more qualified so that later, educated qualified professionals could develop India at a faster rate. If only this had happened, we would have surpassed the USA to become the Big Brother of the world long ago. We still have the chance and time for this to happen. We just have to have a more ethical, moral and accessible education system.

Please sign this petition to see an educated India which will be the USA of the future.
