Please sign if you believe that CUSD 300 (Algonquin, IL) should return to a formal finals schedule for the last week/several days of school for High School Students.

We believe that a FORMAL finals schedule benefits our students in the following ways: 

• It mirrors the format of Final Testing in higher and alternative educational institutions (college, university, trade schools, etc.).
• It provides an opportunity to lower the stress of students by allowing them to focus on/study for specific content areas on specific days.
• Provides students with skills that help them to both prioritize and organize educational subjects as well as promote better study skills.
• It allows the teachers with multiple test components (ex. spoken and/or lab components AND a written portion) to give the final on the same day.
• Allocates more time for teachers to maximize the learning opportunities prior to the Final.
• Provides a FORMAL schedule which reduces/eliminates questions about when the class is finished (or when student work is due).
• Allows teachers to focus on deeply grading each subjects final, and spend time on each individual's learning targets (keeping in mind that many High School teachers have 2-3 subjects to prepare/grade and ~150 total students each semester).
