Petition Closed

SB682 will allow OHA an exception to current State law, which prohibits residential development in Kaka'ako Makai, and it will allow them the opportunity to develop residential property on 2 lots in Kaka'ako Makai. The 2 public lots are the lot just Ewa of Fisherman's Wharf and the Forrest Avenue Lot across from the old CompUSA. This action will also set a bad precedent for further residential development by giving other entities the opportunity to also ask for exceptions in the Kaka'ako Makai area and will further restrict access to the ocean and shoreline. Once you build residential, the land becomes private and only the residents can use the land.
