Dr. Klaiman is on the record saying the following, "There’s a lot of evidence that anybody carrying a firearm within a district building puts kids at risk, specifically Kids of Color. We know that Black and Brown students are much more likely to be shot by Police Officers, especially School Resource Officers, than other Students."

We, the other people of Abington, the ones that don't reside on the so-called privileged side of town; the ones who attended or whose children have attended or are attending Abington School District; the ones who have had negative encounters with Abington Police or at Abington Schools; the ones who have been harassed or whose children have been harassed or are being harassed; the ones who know or who have actually experienced the sort of thing that is trying to be swept under the rug formally request the following: 

Dr. Klaiman be allowed to stay and any person whether board member or not be allowed to openly voice their opinions without hypocritical individuals trying to squelch freedom of speech.

In this so-called precious Abington where police officers gave a citation to a pedestrian for failure to yield while walking, to a young black man who was run down and killed by three white drivers on Old Welsh Road..basically telling his mother that her son's life doesn't matter....what if this was your child walking to the Willow Grove Mall...how would you feel if the Abington Police gave your child a citation after something horrific like this?....a pedestrian always has the right of way and a driver is supposed to be in control of their car at ALL TIMES....this is just one example....Surely someone can see how unjust, disrespectful and disproportionate this is......if Abington claims to be better..they definitely need to be better....and we respectfully request that police officers protect, serve and care about the entire Zip Code area and not just a certain portion of it...its time to do the right thing!
