Improve the safety & design of the two North Harrow Crossings

1) Nower Hill School junction and 2) Station Road/Pinner Road junction

This petition is asking for Harrow Council to listen to residents of North Harrow and the wider area in asking for improved and safer crossings for North Harrow. In particular at the Nower Hill High School and the main road junction at North Harrow where Station Road and Pinner Road cross.

As residents we ask for the new innovative diagonal crossings at both sites with countdown timers, with all sides of traffic held for a period of time to allow crossing. This will create a safer area for all our local school children and pedestrians who regularly using these extremely busy junctions, and better signage nearer the school. These are similar to the Oxford Circus/”Tokyo crossings” designs.

I have spoken with Nower Hill High School, who support this request for these safety improvements to the crossing areas to be made safer. Numerous pupils use these crossing daily, previous requests by the school went ignored by the council.

I do not want to wait for an injury or worse to occur before our Council acts and both crossings need to be made safer now, and this matter should be independent of party politics as it is a safety issue.
